A truly popular biography of the holy man who led the church during the rise of Fascism, World War II, Communism, Korean War, the suez crisis, yet few people know much about his life, his full career and his many earlier achievements. On the title page was a name which was inked out. That is the only mark in the book. Normal age spots. VG. DJ is intact, but it has wear on edges and corners, a two inch tear on spine at crown and other small tears and nicks. Thirty-eight b/w plates and 22 full page drawings by Louis Priscilla.
