Art; Prints; Lithograph; David Bomberg was one of the leading painters of the vigorous avant-garde, which developed in London before the First World War, and through his teaching as well as his painting continued to be an influential figure until his death in 1957. Having reached the verge of complete abstraction in his Cubo-Futurist works of 1913-14 Bomberg entered a phase of naturalism after the War. 'Jerusalem' was painted after Bomberg's second trip to Palestine in 1925 and is a vivid record of the brittle clarity of the Palestinian light. 8 X 10 inches, Matted, Fine. -
